I would check with your state's motor vehicle code, but I would say yes. In Michigan, the only color lights you can have on the rear of your vehicle is RED, AMBER and/or White. (The front is Amber and White only). But like I state above, check the State's MVC because cycles may have a different criteria than cars and trucks.

here in cali it is ILLEGAL to have a integrated tail light that uses the light as the blinkers. regulations state that the blinkers must be 9 inches apart from the center light. but as far as color goes as long as it is red i dont see it being a problem . again just check with your local dmv/chp for rules and regulations

Any red forward facing lights are illegal, because only emergency vehicles are supposed to have red forward facing lights. But, as for the rear, you should be fine. I would personally stick with amber. I want people to see me, and amber LED's are brighter than red.

Don't think that just bause you can buy it, that it's legal. If you've seen someone with it, chances are they just haven't had their ***** busted for it just yet.

I would highly doubt that it's legal or DOT approved. You can check if you want, but red turn signals just aren't going to be legal.

On a side note - I don't know why you would want red signals. To most people it just looks like you're tapping the brake over and over.

Get something in a bright, shiney amber color. Sticks out more. Turn signals aren't for you, they're so everyone else can SEE you and what you intend to do (and it still doesn't always help!).
