what would cause the wires going to my rectafire on my 95 900rr to melt ???? we cant see any other shorts any where . could the bad rectafire cause the fuel pump not to work and also cause there to be no spark??????

your reg/rec could fry because of a bad stator which in turn could cause a bad battery so now you have 2 items working against you.

the r/r is a major weak spot on some hondas. melting wires could be because of a bad starter...but usually wires melt when there is too much voltage running through a wire. Meaning that the wires are too small to handle the current draw.

I think I worded it right.

well the starter isnt bad i can turn the engine over but it wont start . its like there isnt spark also my fuel pump wont kick in if i buypass it it works . but still no spark when the rectafire went bad could this cause the coils to go bad as well? also the only wires that i find melted is the ones going to te rectafire and all fuses are good
