So the connection for my rectifier melted together so I busted it apart with a hammer to salvage the wire. The rectifier still works fine... but how do I know which of the 3 yellow wires is the right one? Or does it matter?
the relevant page from the manual is here: http://www.faliesonsworld.com/motorc...BR00_pg160.pdf

The three yellow wires are all the same and it shouldn't matter, as long as you connect all 3 to the yellows in the stator/alternator/generator.
You should investigate WHY your wires melted............
Sounds like a battery problem or maybe stator/alternator.
Check water in your battery and if it's giving the right charge readings. 13V-15.5V approx at 4000 RPM.
PM me if you need more.............
