Default Rear caliper pin snapped off...

I have a 97 CBR900RR. I was trying to change my rear break pads. The upper pin snapped off in the bracket. Now what? Do I have to buy a new bracket?

You could try to get it out and get a new pin from honda. But in all honesty, unless you have the means of getting the old pin out, you would probably be better off just getting a used bracket on ebay. You can usually find entire sets, the bracket and caliper for around 20-30 dollars. But if you can get the old pin out, you should be able to call any honda dealership and get a new pin.

Picture might help figure out how to extract the piece(s).

I had a hanger-pin that was bound up and stripped out the allen head and managed to
get it out with wd-40 and then heat+vice-grips. Had to chuck it in the drill-press and
turn out the marring from the vice-grips, but was able to re-use it.

Doesn't sound, quite like your situation, but illustrates that if you've already trashed
the piece, you have nothing to lose by trying. If none of your efforts work, then order
a used caliper for the re-build.

Good luck, Ern
