Default Radar

How useful or not for radar detectors. Not that I have a need for one for the new 1k Repsol. Just curious. Brands or any info is cool. Thanks[8D]

K40 systems are custom mounted in autos and are veryeasy to adapt to a bike because there is no large pieces. They arelegal in most states. It's hardwire radar jammer/detector with LEDs that mount wherever you want to put them. The box goes in the trunk or battery box and there is a front and rear sensor that needs to be placed. Over the front tire on the underside of the front fairing is a good spot and under the tail would be good for the rear. You can leave them exposed, but if you are just cautious about stuff, put them in a baggie or shrink-wrap them. It doesn't affect the sensors. You can mount them inside of the fairings, but because bikes have unshielded high amperage wiring, you probably want the receivers to be as far away from the engine wiring as possible. The LEDs can be swapped out for brighter ones. The audible warning is nearly useless ona bike, obviously, but it can be installed anyway.

If installed correctly, neither sensor is in any obvious place and no cop or thief should ever know that it is there. The hard part is locating the LEDs in a spot where you can see them, but the top corners of the windscreen work pretty well. I have heard that the "we pay your ticket" gaurantee is not extended to bikes, but it is still the best system available if you have the money for premium protection.

Cameras....HAHA....good luck seeing my plate. I F*&kcing hate those stupid cameras. They cause more accidents than they prevent.

you can get the parts from k40.com and there are different ways to configure the system. You can use only one sensor instead of two and they have an optional laser detector (I'm on the fence about whether that's worth it, it's a long discussion but this one actually jams the laser so it's WAY better than most. This is what makes it illegal in some states, however) and there are a few other options. I think the brain is like 350 or 400 and comes with one radar sensor and all the wiring and LEDs. All of the pricing is on the site. I don't want to tell you something that is way off. It's really easy to install if you are able to unscrew your fairings and put them back on without any problem, LOL. It doesn't require any special knowledge other than that a tube of 60-second epoxy is your best friend. Nice thing about k40 is that they are upgradeable when new tech comes out and can be easily removed and reinstalled on another vehicle.
