Yep...progressive will take a bike alone...many other places won't touch rockets without getting some of your other business. I am with Liberty Mutual for my house, cars, sled, trailersand so on....I moved my bike to them and it was the same price as Pogressive but got me FULL coverage with a 250 deductable for that.

State Farm kicks ***, but only if you have a car with them as well. I think it will be quite a bit more just for the bike. Also, I know progressive will insure just a bike (with no other vehicles).

But, I just left progressive. The State Farm policy I have offers better coverage at less than half the price of progressive.

I just purchased a 2004 honda cbr600 RR. I have my insurance w/nationwide but they will not cover my bike. I found other insurance companies to cover but I have to transfer my cars. does anybody know of a insurance company that will cover my bike without having to switch my car coverages. farm bureau will cover for 28 per month but like i said i have to switch coverages. thanks for your help.
The following comes from my own experience and experiences related to me, or read about.

Use Dairyland...through whatever means.

They have been insuring motorcyclists for years and years...and you don't have to transfer your entire possesion inventory to get coverage.

I have used them for...off and on...20 years of bike coverage.

Never a problem.

IMO...

Avoid Progressive...who notoriously surveil their clietele at random. Also, they are one of the most expensive.

Geico is as bad as their commercials...

State Farm...old fashioned company that corporately frowns on bikers.

Allstate however is not too bad.

Progressive's got my bike, Farmer's has my car and health. Go with progressive man, they've got the best quotes.
+1 I saved $300/yr...and I was paying $470/yr before with progressive insurance cost me $170/year....I told them how much my old insurance was and the guy told me they sell the most motorcycle insurance in the U.S. thats why they are usually cheaper on bikes....

I had Nationwide too, they wanted $2000 for the bike last year. For a year I went with Progressive, $1000. Today I switched EVERYTHINGto State Farm, all cars, house, umbrela... they gave me bike insurance for $408/year.

I think because I haven't had but one ticket since 1995 and I am OLD (44), they gave me a cheap rate.

Thanks Everybody for the advice. I talked to Farm Bureau today and I think they are going to be the cheapest. $400 a year for full coverage.
