RE: Q's about painting and applying decals
I did mine after the clear coat. But the only reason I did is becasue I knew I was adding more decals later. After I finish my last set I'm applying it'll be cleared over again.
I would imagine you would wantthem on just before the clear coat if you had the choice.

Yep, right before the first coat of clear. Just remember to make sure you are 100% in love with it though. Once the clear goes on, it's damn hard to get them to come off (if even possible).
I would just apply the vinyls after it's all painted. Therefore, you could always rip it off and change it later with no problems.

Trust me, I'm already in love with the decals! I'm building a Ride of the Month contender here (I hope)! If things turn out like I can see them in my head it's going to be one bad *****. After I put the decals on the base before the clear, can I still wet sand the clear without messing up the decals before I add more clear?

dnt put decals on before clear!!!! really bad the clear will start to lift after awhile it has to have a rough area (base coat is rough) to adhere to im a painter and after its done you want to let it cure for about 2 days then put on the decal that way everything is nice and firm all the way through just a word of warning
