Default Pulling at High Speeds

My bike has various issues but lately it has really been bothering me that it pulls so much at high speeds. could this be from dirty carbs?

You are going to need to be much more descriptive than that for an answer. What do you mean it "pulls" at high speed?

I was hoping someone would know the symptoms i mean. When riding on the freeway giving my bike the same amount of gas, my bike will slightly speed up and slow down in a jerky manner. I was hoping someone might know what could cause this.[sm=funnypostabove.gif]

So, if you're riding at a constant speed holding the throttle in position and not moving it, you get a surging? Revs up, revs down? If this is so, what kind of exhaust do you have? Stock or aftermarket? If you have a very free flowing exhaust and have not rejetted the carbs you can get a lean surge. It will do exactly that. If this is not the case, tell us what you do have. Anything done for mods engine/exhaust/intake?

Ya that sounds like it oculd be exactly what is happeneing, the previous owner installed a yoshimura exahust (poorly I might add, he had 3 exahust gaskets when i got the bike) and im pretty sure he did not jet the carbs or anything. Would you recommend finding stock exahust or jetting the carbs? And is there a way I could jet the carbs myself?

You can jet them if you have a basic knowledge of mechanics, but it will be a bit time consuming for a first timer. And it'a alot of trial and error, better off done to get it right on a dyno. I would opt for a stock exhaust personally. It's easier to remedy the problem and it's quieter. ( I like stealth personally)
