Default Loss of Power at High Speeds?

So I was entering the freeway and as I was on the onramp I saw a CBR1000 pass me by, and I thought "why the hell not" and opened up on the throttle after him to see if I could keep up (obviously not past a certain speed of course) but I found out once I hit 90 mph I would experience a sudden loss of power and my bike refused to go above 90.

Is this a carb cleaning problem? or carb syncing?

Man my bike just seems to be having problems left and right...

I notice my bike also has plenty of low end torque, but once I get up in speeds it just sucks. Welcome to the world of carburated engines?

it's not just because it has a carburetor.

and HK i know what you mean. my bike is dying on me pretty much every time i get on it.
sorry i don't have a solution for you. but you weren't very specific. was the bike stopping right at 90mph no matter what gear or how much throttle you gave it?

you most likely need to clean the carbs.. i think the only reason you would need to re-sync them is if you messed with them previously. but give the carbs a good clean n u should be good!.

It just stops at 90mph no matter how much throttle I put on (though I didn't try shifting down, but I don't think it'll make a difference?)

if it stops at 90mph no matter what, it may not be carb related.

What else does it do when it hits the limit? Does it hold steady? Jerk? Where are the RPMs at that limit and in what gear are you in?

I just went through a problem with a flat spot on my F3. 5k RPM was the limit in any gear, with jerks of acceleration to maintain that limit. After cleaning the carbs, replacing the fuel pump, replacing the fuel filter and rejetting the bike it turned out it wasn't getting enough air. The air solenoid wasn't switching to the ram duct air.

Oh and as for carbureted bikes: after bypassing the solenoid, she cracks 90 easily
