The Power Commander IS the jet kit...Jet kits are for CARBURATORS, and POWER COMMANDERS are for Fuel Injection...both do the same thing...alter your air fuel mixture..

Default RE: power command

I'm having a pcIII installed with my new exhaust next week. I would recommend it for several reasons. For one, the kick when you drop of the throttle and when you turn the throttle open is a common issue with the fuel injected bikes. This is only amplified when you slap on an aftermarket exhaust. The power commander will take care of this, not to mention even out your power band. But it's never a bad idea to get a power commander anyhow since it will boost both power and smoothness throughout the rpms.

Power Commanders are highly recommended on the 1000RR,
even if your bike is 100% stock. Not for the HP, but drivability.

The stock ECU can adjust the A/F ratio a bit, to compinsate
for weather changes and small stuff like filter changes etc.

However, the PC will smooth out the power alot better, and gives
you way more flexiblility for future upgrades. (Custom mapping etc)

The Power Commander (when mapped correctly) will make a much
bigger difference at 40%-60% throttle settings then at Full Throttle.

Don't be cheap. Buy one. I kicked myself for ordering one, until I
installed it. Is it worth every penny? No. But it sure is nice to have!
