Default Power but no crank- HELP

I have an '06 cbr600rr that won't start. The bike has power and the lights and dash work fine. When I hit the start button, the bike looses all power. When I let go, the power comes back. I've replaced the battery, starter solenoid, killswitch, and had the starter tested (works fine). No idea where to look or go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can think of 3 possible causes

1. Faulty battery. Unlikely as I would expect a noticeable drop when I came back but possible.

2. Sized starter motor

3. Short in the wiring. I'd expect a fuse to blow but I've seen some odd bodges in my time.

the battery is fine (it's new and was tested before I put it in and I just had the starter motor tester today and spins fine) as for the wiring and fuses, can't say much for the wiring but there arent any blown fuses, plus i replaced all fuses (good or bad) when this issue first came up

We'll need to get more detailed information. Unless you're Superman and can see electrons flowing inside wires, there's absolutely ZERO way any human can just look at wiring and determine its ability to conduct electricity. Luckily, we have instruments that can.

Do these measurements:

1. battery power with everything OFF, volts = ???

2. battery power with key ON, volts = ???

3. battery power when pushing start-button, volts = ????

Next, we'll trace flow path of electricity from beginning to end. You'll have series of measurements like this:

battery 13v -> 13v -> 13v -> 13v -> 13v -> 13v -> 13v -> 13v -> 0v <--aAHA! -> 0v -> 0v -> 0v starter

Problem is between that spot where you measured no/low power and previous one that did have power. Do 1st 3 tests first, then we'll trace power flow next.
