powdercoat Vs paint on my rims????
i know powder coat is the best quality on rims but i dont wanna spend much money! lol..(who does) could i go with paint and not have a problem? for the recored i am painting my rims white.... nobody posted anything on my single sided swing arm! nobody knows anything on that? if you havnt figured it out i fell in love with pilams F2!! i wanna make my bike look like that except F4i...lol.. i dont know what color i wanna make it yet.. its most likely going to be all black with white graphics or viseversa..
Powder coat sticks better than paint. The paint will most likley peel off the edge when you have new tires put on. If you go with white though, it won't be as noticable.
I used VHT caliper paint to paint a set of car rims about 7 years ago. To this date, the rims look the same.
You could probably get away with spray paint, but nothing will beat the durability of powder coating.

The guy that owned my bike before me painted the rims and they still look great today. Ive owned the bike for about 3 years now. Gone through a number of tires.
i am painting my entire bike next week! i am going to make some graphics but i dont know what yet....( bored of my all black bike) not going to be as nice as some other bikes on here..... *HINT* Rojer lockless *HINT*LOL!
Powdercoating doesn't cost that much anymore from what I have seen. I can get my wheels done for about $20 a piece. Any color that I want, well almost LOL. Just look around and you will be able to find something. My rear wheel is all scratched up from when I brought it home (tie down strap throught the rear wheel for 600 miles wears the paint off) so I'm thinking of powdercoating them this winter, but I don't know what color to do. Good luck

a friend of mine was thinking of powder coating his passenfer pegs and a few other parts on his bike, but he said that he found a DIY kit somewhere so you might want to search online to see if it would be .worth it for you to DIY,
You cant DIY ...lol....unless you spend a ton of money on parts, and the boxes alone for the powdercoating (you have to buy atleast 50 lbs. usually) run around $300. If your wanting powdercoating done, get it done right it really is not that expensive, i dont know about $20 per rims, if thats true there losing money everytime he or she does it. You can usually find 1 maybe 2 if your lucky in your town that actually powdercoat just call all the paint people in town and they can usually point you in the right direction. But its not a DIY thing.. educate before making a post----- clicky clicky--------
