Powder coat sticks better than paint. The paint will most likley peel off the edge when you have new tires put on. If you go with white though, it won't be as noticable.

I used VHT caliper paint to paint a set of car rims about 7 years ago. To this date, the rims look the same.
You could probably get away with spray paint, but nothing will beat the durability of powder coating.

Powdercoating doesn't cost that much anymore from what I have seen. I can get my wheels done for about $20 a piece. Any color that I want, well almost LOL. Just look around and you will be able to find something. My rear wheel is all scratched up from when I brought it home (tie down strap throught the rear wheel for 600 miles wears the paint off) so I'm thinking of powdercoating them this winter, but I don't know what color to do. Good luck

You cant DIY ...lol....unless you spend a ton of money on parts, and the boxes alone for the powdercoating (you have to buy atleast 50 lbs. usually) run around $300. If your wanting powdercoating done, get it done right it really is not that expensive, i dont know about $20 per rims, if thats true there losing money everytime he or she does it. You can usually find 1 maybe 2 if your lucky in your town that actually powdercoat just call all the paint people in town and they can usually point you in the right direction. But its not a DIY thing.. educate before making a post----- clicky clicky--------

I don't know the place, but its in LaCrosse Wisconsin. I'll try to get a hold of the guy that told me about them, but he had a set of full length headers powdercoated for his truck and a few brackets for his motor done for $25 and the headers are the size of 2 of our bikes headers. If he was really telling the truth I'm going to get some stuff done this winter, but I'll see
