Poss Ecu fault
Hi my 2005 honda fireblade sat on optimate for month or so started first time but after 20 seconds cut off like kill switch had been pressed
then hiss light and engine light comes on fuel pump primes again and you can re start it and it will do the same again
I put it into main dealer Honda who had it 3 months now rang to say there sure it’s the Ecu
does anyone have an Ecu with chips of a breaker bike or any experience using an Ecu repair as I don’t know where to go from here many thanks Ben

Welcome to the forum, shame about your fault.
A call round the breakers / the 'bay' prob your best bet.
Its very difficult to diagnose an ECU fault so prob an easy out for the dealer.
If it is the ECU a repair would be my preference as you will need a second mortgage for a new OEM ECU.
One of our other members should be able to provide help with the diagnosis.

Test your ignition, BAS, sidestand and kill-switches.
With bike running:
- wiggle keys in ignition switch, does it kill bike?
- tap BAS and wiggle it, does this kill bike? try bypassing BAS and see if problem goes away.
- wiggle sidestand (don’t rotate), does it kill bike?
- wiggle kill-switch laterally, does it kill bike?
might also pull out multimeter and measure with more aggressive wiggling.
