Poor running at 3-4krpm
Hi all,
This is my first post on this forum. I hope someone can help.
2001 F4i stock, Non-CA, 19k miles. Recent service: valve check, new plugs, oil, water wetter, chain / sprockets.
Symptom: between 3-4k rpm the bike seems to "surge", "hesitate", "stutter". Idle rpm varies about 200rpm.
The symptom is much less prevelant when the bike is cold or the air temp is cold. It gets worse as air temps rise.
Running at freeway speeds or on the track the bike runs fine. It is most noticable riding around town. There is never any hesitation on acceleration.
Some people have suggested a Power Commander. I can't tell if this a spark / electrical issue or a fuel issue.
Any ideas.
thanks,
Bryan
