Default Parting out bikes

hey I've noticed a lot of guys parting out their bikes when they want to upgrade....do you get more money for it this way or is it just on the mods to take it sotck and then sell the stock bike to someone???

probably selling off the mods... then getting the bike back to stock. they don't make much more off of mods on the bikes, but can get a few extra dollars for selling the mods on eBay.

most of the bikes being parted out are probably salvage title bikes. they can be hard to sell whole and dealers usually won't take them in on trade-in. selling off aftermarket parts or upgrades is a good idea if you want to get a little of your investment back. besides, the blue book value on a stock bike is the same as a bike with extras. some people even steer away from hopped up used bikes because they think they have been ridden hard.
