Default paint

i have a 06 f4i and after a year kinda getting sick of the brushed aluminum for the frame. i was looking at painting it to black and blacking it out with the blue fairing. anyone ever done this before and if so what type of paint did u use.

Never done it before but checkColorrite.Com they have frame paint formost bikes. I know they have matching frame paintfor the 05 gixxers but not for my 03 F4i. Maybe the newer bikes are key. Hope my 2 cents werent completely worthless. Goodluck!

If i was you i would go with powder coating the frame. Its more durable and will hold up longer. If you find a good powder coater you can usually get a good selection of colors to choose from.

dont want to powder coat, to much friggin work to do all that, i was just curious bout paints, cuz ima tape off evrything cept chucnks of the frame and spray paint it to a flat/dusk black

Use high-temp engine block paint. That would be the most durable paint for what you want to do with it.

Clean everything to be painted with prep wash to remove oil and wax residue blow dry with compressed air

Wipe with tack rag

Sand with 400

Spray with self etch primer

Spray with surfacer primer

Wet sand with 600 paper

Clean with prep wash again and dry

Wipe with tack rag

Now your ready for paint
