Mmm, no. Tell him to show up with the cash.

If he can give you a check, he can go get it cashed too.

Too many ways a check can go bad after the fact. Either that or take it to amscott on the spot and he pays the fees.

I'd accept a cashier's check if I was standing in the bank that issued it, and having them cash it for me as we completed the transaction. If a person really is getting a loan for a vehicle, the loaning bank is NOT going to give the borrower cash.

OTOH, a bank is not generally going to loan money on a vehicle without dealing with the seller in some direct way. If this would be an unsecured loan, the bank wouldn't care, and would give cash.

Personally, I kinda expect there's more to the situation than what that latest message says (no need to go on about how some other deal fell through, if that is not an impediment to the deal you're talking about now). Shouldn't hurt to follow up at least initially, though.

Yeah, buyer needs the vin to make sure it isn't stolen and to get an accurate insurance quote.
