oil
You can use regular car oil as long as it is labeled NON energy conserving. If you look at the label on the back of the container, there is a marking with 2 circles, one inside the other. If in there it says "energy conserving", then you cannot use it as it contains Moly, which will not work with a wet clutch. But as long as it's not energy conserving or contains any kind of moly, it'll work just fine
Sorry no you cant use regular car oil in a motorcycle!! especially in an RR. there are a lot of post in this forum regards this issue I suggest you take the time to read some of them then make up your own mind

I've been running Mobil 1 15w-50 car oil in my bike for the last 58,000 miles with absolutely zero problems
Basicly the moly in energy conserving oil bonds to your cliutch friction discs and makes them too slippery so your clutch will slip not drag as mentioned before.
The reason the Mobil 1 15W50 has not been a problem for thirdgenlxi is it happens to be a non-energy conserving oil and I have used the same oil in bikes I've owned in the past and know of many others that do as well. The energy conserving "stamp" is a a circle inside a circle with a border like this ^^^^^^. So far as the viscosity so long as it's close to 10W40 you'll be alright especially with a synthetic oil.
If in doubt just use a motorcycle specific oil to be safe, can't go wrong with that and the price for a semi synthetic motorcycle oil is comparable to a full synthetic "car" oil anyway.

if you have any questions about oil this should tell you everything you need to know and then some.I use Shell Rotella in my bike-a 93 CBR1000 with 54,000 on it.It uses no oil at all.Oh,by the way the Rotella is about $13. a gallon at Wal-Mart.I use a Pure One oil filter also.
