I bought a second hand one from ebay. Cost me £300 (about $580?) but was in excellent condition. It's a lot of money but still cheaper than an OE unit. Is miles better looking and definately improves the ride.

the best i can explain it is..."it's like buttah"...yes you'll be able to tell the difference...is it worth the money? if you're a track and canyon guy...TOTALLY...if you're street guy...probably not.

Well, yeah, I ride my bike to work as much as I can, and the spirited twisty ride, as well as touring and 3-4 track days a year. So, I pretty much use my bike for everything except off road riding. So, that being the case........$600 bones well spent.

+1
have you done any fork work-revalving and springs?
if not, again +1-if you do revalve and spring the forks to match your ohlins shock
you will have a new bike[sm=bounceybounce.gif],i put a penske shock
on my 54-i am still at idle as far as doing the fork work,as i might not be able to
keep the 54(do to work/$ issues),but for a proper match for the penske
i need to respring and valve-also if i make it that far-i will have
the dampening cartridge spacer re-cut to lower the front forks
as i can use raising/lowering forks in triple clamps for tuning!
at any rate let us know what happens-ohlins shock[sm=smiley20.gif]
good choice
