Not firing
Ok, this is probably the simplist of situations, but iam not quite sure what is going on.
My bike has been up all winter, and just the other day I decided to get her ready to ride. I filled the tank up with some good fuel, and charged the battery. She started up a little rough first, and stalled after a few minutes of idling. After that, I have not been able to get her to fire at all. It's turn untill the battery dies but never fire. What is going on? Is it because it is still cold? The only idicator that lights up is the oil light....

The main jets are probably clogged,or the main needle valve is stuck up with the float, not letting any gas into the float bowls. The old gas has varnished over teh jets from sitting all winter. When you first started it up you were running on the old gas that was left in the flaot bowls from last fall. the best thing to do is have somebody remove the carbs from the bike, pull the float bowl caps off and clean the main jet, spray jet, and check to make sure the floats are working properly. This will fix this issue. Very common on carburated bikes.
