newbie question about spark plugs
i have an 06-1000rr and bought it last july, i live in az and ride all year long, how offten dhould i change my plugs out ? i noticed the bike feels a bit slugish, but hey i don't know? any suggestions i take to the dealer for service but not due for a long time. should i change them and what would you guys recomend for new one if i do need to replace them ?( the reason also i am asking i fuel milage droped off by 10 miles or so over the last 2 months
Spark plugs last a long time so I don't think that's your problem. Have you changed your oil & filter yet? Try a power commander. That might help with your A/F mixture and get rid of the sluggishness.
What's a tune up? I've heard the term used but on a FI motorcycle???
I'm being sarcastic, but not being a smartass. Seriously, I think the term is used a bit loosely.

A tune up would consist of air filter change, oil change, spark plugs if needed, sprockets checked, chain checked and lubed, tire pressure checked, coolant check or flush. Ya know a "tune-up".
I know bikes need maintenance. I'm looking at a major service myself at 21k. It's just that I remember when that consisted of adjusting carburetors, changing points, and fiddling with bleed screws.
I HAVE HAD IT IN FOR THE FISRT SERVICE BUT NOT DUE FOR ANOTHER ONE FOR A WHILE IT ONLY HAS 2,200 MILE ON IT, I DON'T RIDE IT EVERYDAY, AND WORK WAS ONLY 1.5 MILES FROM MY HOUSE I DO RIDE IT WHEN IT IS COLD (BY ARIZONA STANDARDS) I THOUGHT MAYBE I FOULED THEM ALREADY.I DON'T KNOW WAS KINDA LOOKIN FOR SOME ADVICE ANDFROM WHAT I GARTHER A TUNE UP IN ORDER I THOUGHT THAT WAS WHAT THE SERVICE WAS FOR BUT I GUESS I WAS WRONG.
