Never reverse a motorcycle with the engine running. can somebody explain why?

??? & one more for luck? I often pull up & park my bike rear to the kerb, have always done so. Never had a mechanic say to me, 'jeez mate, if only you hadn't reversed the bike while the motor was runnin', Wot your supposed to turn the motor off & started it up again to maneuver it.
Never heard of this sort of thing before. Unless they mean Harleys, in which case it might snap the rubber band.

My back up camera doesn't come on unless the bike is in reverse. Is that okay?

it was something a mechanic told me. and i always notice people backing out with the engine off. but thanx for clearing that up for me.

Unless you manage to back the bike up in first gear with the clutch disengaged, dont worry about it.
