Default needing some help with vacuum

i just picked up a 2002 f4i for next to nothing. it was idleing around 2200rpm so i was i was going through it to make sure there wasn't any vacuum hoses unhooked. there are two ports under the #1 and #4 intake boots that are not hooked to anything, just a hose. i cant find anything in the manual about were they hook too. the honda parts finder list's them as a boost joint. anyone know what there supposed to go?

I'm not really sure where they go, but many times, they are nothing more than drain or overflow lines. But I'm sure someone here who has experience with the F4 will chime in.

Do they have vaccum when the bike is running?

As far as idle being too high. Did you try adjusting the idle adjustment screw? Its the little black **** on the left side of the bike about mid way. They are usually just inside of the frame.

yea, the idle adjuster is all the way backed out.. im assuming they have vacuum b/c they had one hooked up to the fpr which is wrong. but i have not checked for vacuum while running yet, that's on the list.

they screw directly into the head under the rubber intake boots if that's any help

update: both pull about 25-30 inches of vac at idle. open it idles around 2200-2500 rpm. block them off and the idle falls to factory spec.

Plug them. They may go to plugged fittings on the bottom of the air box. I dont have an f4i, but I was helping another guy figure out the same thing.

that's kinda what i was thinking, there's two plastic pegs on the back side of the lower airbox houseing, and the more i looked at it the hoses are just long enough to reach them. i just wanted to make sure they were not for something specific. i cant complain i'v got 600 in it and rode it home. it needs some work mainly plastics and chain and sprocket kit, but with the way gas prices are going ill gladly ride it ugly untill i can put some new plastics on it.

thanks for the info, i'm new to honda's. Had to retire the 93 zx11, dog ran in front of me.
