Default need RPM from sensor!!

aghhhhhhhhh... going nuts trying to the get the rpm's from .. somewhere?

this is for datalogging and using innovate ssi-4. So first I tried the cam sensor.. ahh.. I was right there.. nope.. At first I thought I had it until I revved up and read a little more on it.

ok fine.. so apparently I should probably be using the crankshaft position sensor.. except i can't get a good reading off it?? Hell I touch those two wires the wrong way and the bikes shuts off...

am I missing something here???

Why not just tap into the gauges?

I could.. but again what wire to use? Actuality getting them off the tach could be more of a pain then from the course. The tach has mostly positive wires running (there are a few negatives signals). But when you wire every thing you need a ground to the corresponding proper ground. I've been going over these wiring diagrams for a day or two.. and there really aren't all that many sensors.

we only have a couple components that could measure rpm's unless they're doing something crazy. you have your ignition coils.. all use the same negative. You have your ignition pulse generator. You have your cam pulse generator which I've already rules and out.. and you have your spark plugs.

If I look at the diagram for the gauge. The only thing I can see that would be even close is "Ignition (+)"

ugh..

actually I got it... found a tach wire in the diagrams and noticed it came right out of the ecu. Now by the way It's being calculated on my PC it's using pulses.. so that must be the output.. but luckily the wire runs straight from the ECU to the Gauges up front....

Everything working properly right Got A/F, TPS and RPM thus far... not sure what last measure will be most beneficial.
