I'm using 06 GSXR upper/lower triples, forks, and calipers on my F4. I have the triples/forks mounted on the bike. I machined bushings to adapt the F4 axle to the forks and then centered and mounted mounted the F4 wheel.

Now I'm at the issue of rotors. The F4 rotor spacing is too wide for the calipers. Because the F4 rotors are not "flat" (the inner hub part moves the actual pad surface out wider), I can't space anything. Not to mention I need a 310mm or larger rotor.

So what I'm looking for is a flat 310mm rotor with the f4 bolt pattern. Any ideas?

 

Here are some pics of what I'm dealing with. I mounted everything up tonight and with the pistons fully retraced into the bores, the rotors are dragging on the outer disc. It looks like I need to move "in" about half a rotors thickness (about 2-3mm each side....4-6mm total). If I can find a "flat" rotor that fits the F4 bolt pattern, I can easily make a spacer to make it all work.

I have read that the F4 and F4i rotors are different. What exactly is different between them?

 

Well, solved my rotor/fork issue, 929/954 triple. The 929/954 triple is about 10mm wider than the GSXR, which moved the forks out wider and now allows me to space the rotors to their correct location in relationship to the brake calipers.

I'll have to swap my forks out for the 04/05 version as my 06/07 forks are 53mm at the lower triple, which won't work with the 54mm 929/954 triple. Fortunately they are in excellent shape so the shop that I got my triple from said they will even exchange me the set I need. Makes me sad though to loose the black forks.

I'll make a post when I get everything mounted up.
