Default Need to remove my CA emissions equipment

Hello! I live in Colorado and I bought a used bike from California. The problem is that the "charcoal can" is leaking gas so I would like to remove it entirely. Does anyone know how this is done correctly? Schematics or a web site would be helpful. Also, is there any other CA equipment I should remove in order to get more power? Or is it more trouble then it's worth?
Thanks!
