Default Need new headlight bulb/wattage question?

99 Cbr900 need new bulb. i know the oem is 45/45. Are these ok:
Dot H4 1pc Amber White Xenon Halogen Bulb Honda CBR900RR 92 94 95 96 97 98 99 | eBay

I've read that higher wattages have been used with no problems as long as theyre H4 type , but I have also read that they can get too hot and melt housing. I would like some brighter lights but don't want to do any mods. So, if those are ok, would an even higher wattage work like these:

Honda CBR 900RR 92 95 96 97 98 99 Xenon Headlight Bulbs H4 | eBay

Thanks tons and ride safe all you bastards who are riding now!

Stay away from 'colored' headlights. They put out less light than their clean brethren.

I think most H4 standards are 60W/55W, so those top ones would work. I have SilverStars in my car - they are a much better bulb than the general crap you find out there. Not cheap, though.

Thanks for the quick response Cfile. So you think the silverstars are worth the extra $14 per bulb? I have no clue. I can afford them I guess, but don't want to really pay $40 for a couple of bulbs. I do only need one, but call me **** and I want them to match. Maybe OCD?

I'm running silver stars. It's better than stock. Haven't had any problems with melting anything.

Yeah, the bulbs aren't cheap. Pay it and forget it I say. I've heard good things about the Philips X-treme Power bulbs too, supposed to be the best currently available.

Thanks again guys. i did a search on the philips. Compared to the sstars the xtremes are supposedly better for lo beam . The sstars better for hi beams. I read this in a few threads.

Just get HID's from DDM tuning and call it a day (Even at night).
Get 35W 4300k H4 Hi/Lo.

They produce about 3 times the light of any Halogen out there.

HIDs are nice, but..."I would like some brighter lights but don't want to do any mods."

I wouldn't classify HID's as doing a mod (Adding HID projectors I would), You really are just plugging in a couple extra connections with no splicing. (Its an extra 15mins work)
