I looked on craigslist, didn't find one ther either. Is there any way to search all locations at once on that site?

Is there a way to find out which if any other bikes share the same tachometer part as the 1100XX?

Thanks. They didn't have a part listed, but I put in a request.

ok, so I had my father help me run the tests again and we determined that it was in fact the brain box or ECU or whatever it is called...under the seat right in front of the tail light. I got one on ebay for $20 and installed it. No love. Problem persists.

So I am bowing out and taking it to a local service shop...the horror.

Wired to the brain box is the Throttle Position Sensor, Fast Idle Relay, Pulse Generator Coil, Tachometer, Ignition Coils and Spark Plugs.

It seems that if for many of these, a faulty connection would cause the bike to run poorly (which it isn't). Which of these can I rule out if just the tach isn't working?

Just shy of a year after taking posession of my bike, I got the tach working. Rather I should say, I got a working tach. It was actually the tachometer itself. I bought a gauge cluster from a guy on ebay who I saw was selling XX parts. I asked him if the he had the gauges still, he shipped them to me for $50. I took out the tach and dropped it into my cluster and it is good to go. woohoo.
