My Bike wont start
Hi all,
I have a CBR250RR, its a 96, i was riding the other day for about 2 hours and stopped for a bit, i then turned it back on and the dash lights worked, and the headlight worked but the starter did nothing, no sound nothing, didnt try and kick over. i ended up clutch starting it and got about 2km down the road and it just powered down and stopped. the dash lights and headlights stilll work, but nothing else. i dont want to take it to the mechanic just yet till i find out more info so i dont get ripped off. can anyone please give me suggestions?

A no starter problem and the engine stopping problem sounds like two different problems. I am not sure how those could be linked together. If you can bump start it and have a bad starter the bike should in theory keep running.
Just assuming the problems are linked I would start to look for burnt wiring or loose connectors.

Check the voltage of the battery. Sounds like a dying battery to me. If the battery isn't charging, it might be an indication that there is an issue in the charging system.

try getting the alternator tested, usually if the battery is dead and you clutch start it the bike will run off the alt even with no power in the battery. If the alt is bad then after you clutch start the bike it still won't be able to run because your battery is dead and the alt isn't keeping the power up anymore. So in short check both haha. Also check the starter for fun
