Default My beautiful new CBR is bucking!

Hey everyone. I'm sorry that my first post is a cry for help, but I promise to make many worthwhile and humorous contributions in the future.

Anyway, I have a brand new 2008 CBR1000RR that I've put about 400 miles on so far, and something very unsettling has happened twice now. After riding for a while, I'll take off, and the bike will started bucking and lurching (just like there's no gas or something, but I have plenty) at like 30 or 40 miles an hour for no reason. I am forced to pull over, because if I accelerate or try just shifting gears, it keeps happening and has even stalled. When it happened today, I got to a stop sign at the end of the road, proceeded through, and it stopped doing it. I didn't even have to turn the engine off and back on again.

Being that it's a new bike and I'm having this issue, I'm definitely a little peeved. It's dangerous too. I haven't really even ridden it that hard yet. Does anyone have ANY idea what might be causing this?!?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hmm, I really have no idea. But the first thing I would do is bring it back to the dealership and have them look at it. Its under warranty. There is no way I would undertake something like this if my bike was under warranty. You need to be careful here while your bike is under warranty and let the dealership fix it. There may a code stored that the dealership can read so it may be an easy fix.

Also, if one dealership says it will take longer than you want, take it to another one that has more time. You don't have to take it back to the dealership you bought it from, but its always a good idea if you can. Establishing a good bond with them is always more helpful in the long run. but if they suck, go somewhere else.

Is there a chance you got bad gas somewhere?
