Making my own rim tape: inner rim & outer rim size help?
Hi everyone,
I have a 2002 cbr f4i and I am making rim tape for my bike. I am seeking a dimensional diagram of my wheel. Specifically, I need the length from center of the bolt to the inner part of the rim, and the length from the center of the bolt to outter portion of the rim. The reason I need specific dimensions is because I am using a large protractor and a large piece of reflective tape to make my own rim tape. I know some may think to get a tape measure and measure it myself, but with my wheel on the bike I cant get a precise measurement. Also, if anyone has an idea of how to make your own rim tape I'd take suggestions.

Hi I can't help u with the dimensions right now but couple yrs back I made my own rim tape design using 3m reflective tape, it comes in a roll of a long straight line I just cut it in diagonal pieces with scissors to make the design. The tape was pretty flexible so it was easy to stretch along the rim's curve. It was like 7bucks on amazon prime and I did both sides front and rear and still had some left. Might be easier than trying to cut a perfect circle

Not trying to be a ***, but if you have the bike there with you ( in a garage, or storage) why not just measure on your on wheel. Write down the measurements, then cut your design to length. Play with the patterns here and there to figure out what you like. I just find it hard that you have the bike wheel “there”. Just a quick guess I would think to take half of 17? Just a couple few of more pieces maybe 8 1/2 inches.
