Default Lubricating Steering

How do you properly lubricate around the handlebars to stop the squeaking and what's the best lubricant?

Are you talking about head bearings? When you turn the bars side to side it squeaks?

any lube will prob run down eventually and start squeaking again if it is your actual head bearing that is bad you have to either place it or repack it.

This^^^^^^^

If your hearing squeaking, chances are pretty good the bearing are digging into the races and the bearings are no longer rolling, they are just gliding. If thats the case, you will need to replace them.

If they check out ok, the proper way to lube them would be to remove them, and repack them with grease.
