Default Loud clicking noise

Hi,

I know very little about bikes so this may come across quite vague. But, my cbr 125 has started making a wierd noise. When I'm riding along there's a repetative, loud clicking noise coming from somewhere around the center of the bike. As well as hearing it I feel it in the right foot peg. It feels like something is catching on something else, either the chain or something deeper in the engine.

So far I've had a look at the chain and tried tightening it, which didn't help. So now I'm trying a variety of sources to see if anyone has any thoughts.

Thank you.

Mine seems to do a similar thing but mainly when I'm slowing down and havent got the clutch in... I dont know if its the same issue though as I dont feel it through the foot pegs I just hear it. Be interested to see if anyone has any ideas for either issue though..

Sounds like a knocking?

Yah i would definetely check the pistons. The louder it is the worse off you are. If you have cylinders knocking there is only o much you can do...

Gasgets, seals, pison heads.

Make sure you have the required oil level up in that beast.

Could also be your chain, they stretch unevenly, & you get that sort of thing happening as the tight/loose sections of the chain go over the sprockets. Make sure you adjust the chain slack, when the chain is at it tightest point between the front & rear sprockets. A worn chain will also give you that noise & sensation through the pegs.

be sure to not overtighten your chain. A chain that is too tight will put a lot of stress on the output shaft bearing. the bearing will fail if there is too much tension. These bearings will also make some odd noises if the chain is too tight. They will click and grumble while your riding.

Or like already said, it could be a worn or dirty unlubed chain.
