I lost my key and was wondering if there was a way to hot wire these at the 4 prong plug behind the head light. Its a 2000 CBR 600

 

you can get a key made up for it. There is a code somewhere and you can take that to a good lock smith to make one up for you. Im not sure where the code is but I know its on there, PM bindelsf2 and he can tell you. He had his key lost in the mail and took the code and got a new one made up.

you have to take your title, photo id,receipt and the lock assy in or no one will make a key for you...

it does seem REALLY fishy when someone ask how to hot wire a bike, all the post i have seen have asked how to get a replacement key made.. hot wire it and you will blow the CDI..

 

Yea once I posted that I seen how many posts he had, but I remembered that bryan said you need the title and everything else to get a key. I wasnt tellin him anything else besides that.

 

its cool I figured out how to do it myself and no I didnt steal the bike. I am just not going to run a key anymore at all. I installed a compustar alarm on it and now only need that to power up the bike.

you could take the ignition assembly off and take it to the nearest dealer where they can make a copy for $6-7. I too lost my key and this is what a fellow rider/mechanic suggested. it took me about 15 minutes to remove and another 15 to reinstall; the process is as easy as a 1 on a 5 number scale.
