Lithium Battery
Alright man, had to bite the bullet for a new battery for the CBR. Didn't have a Yuasa in stock so rather than have me wait they gave me a deal on a Shorai LFX lithium. If $hit don't go right, I'm coming after you. :-)
Hahaha. Sounds fair. I'm still pleased with mine. Hopefully you end up in the same boat.
Late to the show but I've had my shorai for..... 3 years now? had some close calls with the charge and a ton of complete discharges and been able to nurse it back to health *with their charger not a battery tender so I cant speak to their effectiveness with one.* I will say that it is my second one, I had to warranty the first within a month but at the time I lived 50 miles away from their corporate office so I just waltzed in and they swapped it out. I like it but the price tag is no fun.

But I also had a few weird scenarios in the first week or so. One or two total discharges (at home) and a head scratcher or two on standing voltage. But.... After a few charge cycles and some time on the road, it settled in and has worked quite nicely. It does spin faster on cold start than it did in the past and seems to hold a stronger charge longer. I do not use the Shorai charger, fwiw.
Its nice to have, but not super worth it if the regular tender works. The one nice thing it does special is help diagnose if something is wrong with the electrical. It will tell me if there is a fault or if something is unplugged or how drained the battery is. I have an alarm installed and it is a parasitic drain on the battery so that really sucks the life out of it if I dont ride for a week, and that is really annoying because I never think to "plug the bike in." Actually I need to see if there is a way to stop that, Maybe a switch or something that will cut the alarms ground, it has a backup battery that supposedly lasts two days so that works. Yea that might just work thanks.
I have a battery tender but like you, I forget to plug it in most of the time. I could ride every single day or not for a week or two so it's hard to anticipate. But I also have a full blown charger with fast charge, trickle and full jump plus diagnosis and adjustable voltage output. So I can't see buying the Shorai tight now.
