Default License plate light install

In trying to safety my bike for a buyer and the bike currently right now doesn't have any license plate lights. In order to install this would I solder the ground to the ground and the positive to the positive to turning signal lights? I'm a total novice sorry for asking

Not the turning lights, that would make your plate light blink when turning and off when not. Tap into the running lights.

+1 ^^ The ground can connect to any other ground and your positive will go to the "always on with the key" tail light wire.

You will need to look at a wiring diagram and find out which wire is for the running lights.

if you don't have access to the wiring diagram just buy or borrow a 12 volt test light ($5 @ advance auto), turn on your key switch so the tail light is on. Now poke the test light into the 3 wires going into the tail light. When the light turns on that's the wire you want. FYI on almost all hondas green is ground.
