Default Left turn signal sticking

Just bought the bike about 2 weeks ago and noticed last night that my left turn signal sticks sometimes. I need to get it inspected but I'm not sure if it will pass if the left blinker is sticking.

Any suggestions or comments?

if you mean inspected to get it titled in your name, dont worry about it. They just check to make sure the vin matches the title.... or atleast in my state

try some wd-40?

Thanks but it's not the switch that's sticking, that part moves left to right just fine. When I move switch to left, the blinker does not blink sometimes, it stays constant.

The switch simply provides voltage to the flasher or indicator relay so I would say it is the relay that is faulty, not the switch. Try a new relay and all should be ok again. If the right indicator flashes, but the left one stays lit but doesn't flash that is a sure sign that the flasher relay is faulty. Let us know how you get on?

Thumbs up

I bought mine about 2 months ago, and its been doing the same thing since i took off in it. as a temporary fix try quickly flashing your right signal and instead of turning them off switch to the left. works for me. let me know how the relay goes. haha i've been too lazy to get around to it.

Maxshoe - That's funny because that's what I've been doing too. Flipping right on quickly then turning to left...

HighwayPatrol - I'm new to bikes so can you walk me through the process. I guess I should purchase a new relay and then install it. However, where in the world does the relay go? Keep in mind I'm as new as they come so bear with me.

The relay is mounted behind the instrument cluster, if you look up from under the headlight, you can see it on the right side of the bike (which is right as seated on the bike) It may be possible to change with out removing the upper fairing if you are really lucky/good.

do you have LED blinkers? i had LED blinkers on my bike, and one time the resistor started to go out, it caused the blinker to stay constant ... if they're stock condescent bulbs, then its what everyone else said here, but if you have LEDs, it'd prob be the resistor before the relay.
