Default JETTING QUESTION???

I just bought a 1993 900 and in the process of cleaning the carbs i noticed that the stock jetting was in the bike. The bike does have a uni filter and a d&d slip on. If any one would know what to jet the bike without buying 5 diffrent jet sizes it would be very helpfull. I do know how to check plugs for jetting and so on... but would like a good starting point (2 sizes up 3 sizes up etc..). Thanks to all that reply!!!!!

Default RE: JETTING QUESTION???

Man you don't ask for much do ya[8D] Are you planning on changing the needle also or just bigger jets? If all you intend to do is change the jets then I'd go up 2 sizes -- I'd also get rid of that crap filter and go back to stock or go with a K&N or BMC street filter. If you go with the aftermarket filters then start out 3 sizes up. Now if you go the needle and jets route then you'll just have to follow the instructions. Since the aftermarket needles are so much thinner (EPA -- who needs EPA) I've actually had to go down a couple sizes when jetting. The thinner needles flow a lot of gas.

Good luck.
