So anyway, he went back out and took my rectifier to swap out. He said as soon as he plugged it in he heard a pop, from a fuse possibly. I guess it wouldn't start and that's when he came back inside. I am sure he will be messing with it before work this morning too.

I am in Sarasota County, between Tampa and Fort Myers. West coast.
i'm in fort myers. just out of curiousity, what did the plugs look like? does he keep losing the same cylinder?

Well hell! OK, you are close enough to come riding with us! I am in Englewood.

I don't think he knows which cylinder he is losing. here are the plugs. The first and third look pretty burnt up, but "supposedly" they were new last week.

He's giving up and having me drop it off at the shop tomorrow mid-morning.

right on, englewood's not too far at all.

those plugs look great. so its definitely not a motor issue. and you've replaced known-to-work coils, coil wires, plugs, right?

so that leaves fuel.... if i'm thinking straight. you should have (if you replaced the coils, plugs, etc. with your's off of your bike) ignition, you should have compression (otherwise those plugs would be black with oil), so that leaves you with getting the fuel to make the thing go bang.

has he tried running it with a touch of choke after it feels like it's dropping a cylinder? if that helps, then it's something with the carb....

i know that it's intermittent - and that's usually electrical, but this is something new to try

The shop said the same thing conrice. Fuel problem. I dropped it off this morning, but they will not be able to look at it until Friday This is going to be a looong week/end LOL

At least I got him to put my coils and rectifier back on my bike

Sounds like this could be the makings of a S FL get together.

I sure did. I got a good 30 mins of ride time last night. My throttle response is quick, and my bike is fast. Had the time of my life
