Intermittent Missfire 93 F2
The guy we bought the bike from said it had a missfire. He changed the plugs and drove it for a day and it was fine. My husband drove it for a day and it was also fine. Yesterday it started having an intermittent missfire, where he would lose a cylinder and it would shut off on him. He'd let it sit a minute and it would fire right up and drive fine again. This has happened 3 times now. Since we are new to bikes I thought maybe you guys would know a common problem? Should we start with replacing the coil pack?

Check the voltage regulator/rectifier as well. It can cause power issues if it is failing.
Here's a couple of links for complete diagnostics, visually check the connector/s and
the r/r itself for signs of heat damage. i.e. melting/warped plastic cracked/splits in
the epoxy seal on the r/r itself or burnt pins on the connectors.

So anyway, he went back out and took my rectifier to swap out. He said as soon as he plugged it in he heard a pop, from a fuse possibly. I guess it wouldn't start and that's when he came back inside. I am sure he will be messing with it before work this morning too.
I am in Sarasota County, between Tampa and Fort Myers. West coast.
