Default "inching foward"

hey guys, i got a 04 f4i and was out today driving (not too hard) and did 2 shifts w/o the clutch. seemed to work fine till i got home. i noticed that the bike wants to move foward very slowly w/ the clutch in. and its a little more difficult to shift into nuetral. i know yall have seen this b4. i did search a little. please help.

If yours has a clutch cable, you can try adjusting the freeplay. But in my opinion, shifting without the clutch isn't good. It's easier to repair a clutch than a transmission.

Sounds like you just need to adjust the clutch....and I shift all the time without the clutch and have 30,000+ miles on the bike with no negative effects. Done correctly shifts without the clutch are faster and smoother...of course im no expert or anything.. just my .02

Agree with the above, your clutch cable needs adjusting as the clutch isnt fully engaging if the bike still trys to creep forward. And for what its worth i do clutchless (UP) changes every day have done on my previous 3 bikes and never had or heard of it causing any problems. I can`t see it causing clutch slip or making the need for cable adjustment.
