Default Idles real high after warms up!!!

1997 CBR F3....Idles fine until I've been riding for about 10 minutes then it warms up and starts idling around 4000 rpms. The choke cable is not in the factory position, the owner before me had it attached to the plastics by the windshield. Any help would be great.

I'm thinking that your issue is related to your choke. It's probably not disengaging properly. I'm not sure why someone would relocate it, but putting it back the way it's designed would probably correct the problem.

dude messed with the handle bars and looks like where it was is broke off the plastic...could the issue have something to do with the jets in the carbs...maybe one needing replaced?

I think Idodirt is probably right & the choke is probably still on slightly. You could also try readjusting you're idle back down once it's warmed up, using the idle adjuster **** on the left side of the bike.

No, it's not one of the jets. If you try to adjust the idle down, use caution. If the choke is stuck on a little, and you adjust the idle down, your closing the throttle somewhat, causing an even richer environment which could lead to plug fouling, rough idle and tough starting. I'd start with getting the choke cable and lever in working order. Check on ebay for the choke lever and possibly a cable.

Sure it would. If you're moving slower than the engine wants to go, then you're going to accelerate no matter what gear you're in.

Ok...replaced the choke cable and made sure it was opening and closing all the way...Still i'll rev it up to about 6 or 7k rpms and let it come down and it sits at 3k for a while then comes down...until it gets warm and then it stays between 3K and 4K...what should I look into next.
