IAT sensor
i recently bought a performance chip for my 2001 f4i and am having trouble finding the iat sensor. i thought it was on the top of the air box, but after taking voltage readings according to the directions with the chip, i appear to be wrong. any help?
There is no "performance chip " for our bikes.WHat you got is a resistor that "fools" the ecu into thinking it is cooler than it actually is.In turn adding more fuel/spark..Its a hack at best.

Same thing people do with the oxygen sensors on cars, either when they have none or they have no cats. Changes the A/F ratio as well as keeps the check engine light from coming on
But yes, to answer your question, the IAT sensor is that little 2 wire gray plug, top center of the airbox
No dont listen to these people. they do not know what they are talking about. Install that "performance chip." black smoke from the exhaust means you are making a lot of power.
alright, thats what i was thinking. a "performance chip" sounds better than a resistor, which i know thats all it is, but the thing was 30 bucks so i figured what the hell? i had one on my camaro and i actually felt a difference. well another q' on the sensor, there is a green and a purple wire, which one is the signal? purple?
