No flames out the exhaust are not a good sign ...
Read justasquid's reply which is a good one and please let us know a few details ..
Yes, I concur- always start with the plugs! (after the battery, of course). From here you follow the path- eventually you arrive at the Root Cause. In my case, I got lucky with help from a bit of the "Dark Art", (what with the compressed air, and such), but that is where to begin. May your Quest lead you not into the domain of 60 Degree Sensors and Ignition Pulse Generators, but into the realm of Fouled Plugs, Stuck Valves, and Mice in Your Tailpipe! Good Luck, and Good Morrow!

Chuck , mate ....If the shops near you are twitts and have a chitty range of plugs , don't stress about the brand yet mate , any cheap brand will do to test her ....... just take an old plug and get the dicks at the shop to match them for size and heat range on any brand that they carry .... then fit them and try the bike to see if it improves before you worry about much else ....

Personally, I would go with a good plug. The iginition systems on bikes are fairly poor performing as it is, so they need a good plug to get the most out of them. I'd stick with NGK's.
Also, I would stay far away from Champions.

My plugs are Iridium, not sure of yours? Honda OEM (mfg. by NGK I believe) is the ONLY thing I would buy! My OEM plugs were @ $20 USD/ea. so as I said before, $80 later...

Just sayin': if your using the Scientific Method to proof something, you change only 1 variable at a time, this is why I only use OEM parts as replacements. (except for Mods, of course, where the point is to "Improve" the original design!!)
