Sounds like someone shaking a bunch of ball bearings in a glass jar. I just changed my OEM CCT for the second time since I've owned my bike ('01 F4i). Easy change when I did it (took off the tank) and the bike's quieter...for now

 

It sounds like a noise that my F4 makes. I notice it at stops when a car is in front of me. I think the noise is just the air pulsing in the air box. As many people have said, the CCT sounds like BB's in a metal can rattling at 5k and up.

 

I have a '04 F4i and there is a slight rattleish noise coming from out front when I pull the clutch in it goes away. Any ideas?

 

I just got my cctl replaced in my 02 f4i and it is very nice hearing the bike without the rattle since i bought it this way. My cctl noise occured from 2500 to 5500 then completely disappeared after that RPM range. Its a nuisance more than anything.

 

My 06 F4i does the same from 3500-6000. It's due for a service soon, so I'll see what the mechanic recommends. It'll be nice if they can reduce the noise it makes.
