Default how much can you lower the front end

I've already dropped the back end on my girlfriends bike so she could touch the ground easier, but I am wondering how much I can drop the front end so she can touch the ground easier. Twice now she's come around a corner with some jackass in the wrong lane and she's dropped it. I figure another 1/2" or so would work out well, but to do that, I'd have to drop the front about 1". Is this too much? Am I going to run into issues with too much slack in the brake cables? I could tighten up the front suspension so I doesn't bottom out so easily... also since she is a new rider, she's not into wheelies, and what not.

How much does dropping the front end affect the handling? I know you decrease the angle, and the front end becomes unstable, but isn't the rake set by the triple tree?

Thanks for your help

I wouldnt go more than 1"
as the clearance will be affected too much and if you hit a bump the front wheel might hit ur radiator/fairings
