On second thought, just buy a set of scales and weigh the engine.

Most house scales go upto 120kg and I doubt the engine weighs more than that.

Im not 100 percent sure, but I think they are around 120 lbs or so. It all depends on what you are including on the engine as well. Carbs, header, wiring, cooling, ..ect. It will all add up.

Most shipping companies will have a range fora given price. I'm sure your in the 100-150lb range. Keep in mind they will also take the pallet into account as well.

Some companies will also charge based on size along with weight.

You should beable to call them up, tell them the basic dimensions of the engine and they should be able to give you quote. Engines get shipped all the time, so they should have an idea.

Thanks guys. Eventually I didn't need a scale. I removed the engine and was able to lift it up by myself. So I guess its definitely less than 150 pounds. I will not use UPS or any other corporate shipper. I will use private guy who will deliver it door to door. And its way cheaper than UPS, Fedex, Forward Air etc. I guess I could create a nice How To about shipping engines and other odd items, but it might have be covered numerous times already. Its not a big deal as I thought at the beginning.

+- 130 pounds dry. To ship, I strap them to a pallet with heavy duty zip ties (200 pound rating) around the engine mount bolts. I've shipped a few motors via Roadway and never had a problem
