I have 98 f3 and i was wondering how you lock up both helmets for when my girlfriend and I go out. Is there some special bracket you can buy for that. I know that there is a small t shaped piece to extend where the helmet hangs, but dont know how to lock up 2 at once. Comments???

 

I'm not familiar with the helmet lock on the 98 F3... but my RR came with a short piece of rubber covered wire cable that has loops on the end. You run the cable through the buckles on the helmets and hook in under the seat. Then the seat locks them in place.

 

if it's anything like mine, there's a helmet lock on each side of the seat. but if not, here's a pic of an extension..

 

If it's like mine on my 93 F2, you just kinda have to try to get both of them in there. It's not real easy, but I've done it by myself once or twice (real easy with help). Make sure it's good and lubricated before you try both. I know mine stick when I put 2 on, and you have to mess with it for a few minutes by unlocking it and pushing the rod back and forth a few times till it opens enough to get both helmets off.

 

Thanks guys. I'm still not sure which way I want to go or which way is easier. Using 2 of those extensions or using a cable like on the RR. I think it would probably be more convienient to use that cable method so I dont have to carry around 2 extensions. Thank you very much!!
