Default Hotbodies flushmount install walkthrough WITH video

This seemed to be a pretty easy process, although when I found out I had to remove the whole front fairing I was intimidated at first. This is just a quick write up of what I did to install these signals on my 2006 F4i. Please read through the whole thing first before you start. Also I did NOT connect both of the lead wires (blue or orange) to my turnsignals I left one exposed because I did not want to have the orange running lights. Is that going to be bad does anyone know? I didn't think there was enough current going through there to start a fire or electricute me while riding. I probably should have taped it or something just to be safe but I didn't have any electrical tape handy so I just left it. At the moment I do not recall what wire I used I believe I used the solid wire only and that allowed me to not have the turn signals as running lights too. If you are afraid of screwing something up and do not want to cut through wires don't be that concerned. The stock signals have a wiring harness and so if you ever want them back on or screw something up really bad you can just buy new ones and replace them easily. If anyone else has a comment or suggestion PLEASE post it for myself and others that may be doing this project. It's my first major mod to my bike (yes its major to me since all ive done was put on a tank pad and windscreen heh) so I'm no expert and any advice is always helpful. Pics are in the posts below I'll try to follow order as best as possible.

Mike

Step 1: Turn off bike

Step 2: Remove mirrors (2 bolts per side) and windscreen (6 bolts)

Step 3: Remove bolts from fairing (4 bolts per side and 1 push pin screw)

Step 4: Stand infront of the bike and gently pull the front fairing forward wiggle it a little bit if need be. Becareful as it has an attached wiring harness so don't play superman and just rip it off

Step 5: Unclip wiring harness from front fairing

Step 6: Remove spider webs and eggs or whatever the heck crap is inside your bike

Step 7: Remove nut from each stock turn signal on the inside of the front fairing

Step 8: Remove stock turn signals and replace the nut on the bolt just incase whatever reason you need it again so you don't lose it

Step 9: Approximately 2.5 inches from where the wires go into the stock signal using a cable cutter or a nice wire cutter cut through the nice black wire insulator and pull the stock turn signal out
You can cut more off if you do not want as much slack to have to deal with trying to tuck in behind later when you replace the fairing

Step 10: Insert hotbodies flushmount turn signal where you just removed the stock signal

Step 11: Place 3 washers over the bolt and tighten down with the supplied nut (they give you I believe 10 plastic washers I have no idea why I only used 3 per side)

Step 12: Strip away the black insulator for the three wires (I used a scissors to do this it seemed to work well)

Step 13: You recieved 4 blue plastic wire connectors with your turn signals
GREEN on the bike connects to the BLACK on the hotbodies signals
BLUE and ORANGE (blue is on the right side of the bike and orange is used on the left) on the bike connect to the RED on the hotbodies signals
Insert the two BLUE wires into the one of the blue wire connectors along with the RED wire from the hotbodies signal and using a pliers push the metal piece on top down securing the 3 wires into place
Make sure that all the wires and stuck in place and not loose

Step 14 - 16: Repeat using the ORANGE and RED wires on the other side and the BLACK and GREEN wires on both sides

Step 17: Plug harness back in

Step 18: Turn on bike and verify that all lights and signals work properly (you do not need to start the bike to do this just turn the key to the on position)

Step 19: Replace front fairing and make sure tha

Do the flushmounts and other lights blink as they did with the original equipment?

They blink faster. Here is a video of my new turn signals with a tremendous soundtrack!
