Default hooliganbiketech.net oil change guidelines

Anybody using the Mobil M1-108 oil filter that this site suggested? www.hooliganbiketech.net
He also reccomends 10W50 weight oil, the HONDA manual states 10W40. Do you think
it's better to stick w/ what the manual listed or use the10W50? I live in Missouri. Thanks
for any input. I've done some research, but theres so much info. it's confusing.

Default RE: hooliganbiketech.net oil change guidelines

well....it's actually up to you. mobile 1 filter has been used by many riders without any problems, so has any oil other than the recommended 10/40. as long as the oil is not labeled as energy conserving, you will not experience any clutch slippage. as far as using car dino oils vs. bike specific oils, many will also tell you otherwise.

personally, i've used and still use the mobile 1 filter. i also use the largest filter (lenthwise) i can fit. stock is like 2.5". i use the 3" mobile 1 filter (or is it 2 inch stock and 2.5" M1 filter...can't remember) and i use mobile 1 15/50 (car synthetic) and haven't had any issues.

if you're very concerned, run what you feel is appropriate and then send your oil away to blackstone labs to get it analyzed. the numbers will tell you tons of information.
